How do I get an invite code?
Someone you trust who's already on Dishpit gives you one. We don't take signups any other way. If you've worked in a Charleston restaurant and want in but don't know anyone on yet, hit /contact and tell us a bit about yourself — we'll see what we can do.
Is this really anonymous?
To the restaurant — yes, completely. Operators can't see who wrote what. That's the foundational promise and it's not going anywhere. To us (the people running Dishpit), reviewers are identifiable internally for moderation purposes only. We never share any of that with operators.
How do I write a review?
Once you're signed in, click any restaurant in the directory and hit “Write a review.” It's structured questions — takes about 5-7 minutes. You can do a quick version in 90 seconds.
Can restaurants pay to remove bad reviews?
No. Not now, not ever. See /not-for-sale.
Are restaurants on Dishpit?
Not in version one. Workers review, workers read, that's it. In a later version, restaurants will be able to claim their page and respond — but with strict rules about what they can and can't see or change. Workers stay anonymous. Reviews stay up.
How do you decide what's worth reviewing?
You worked there. That's it. Any restaurant, any role, any tenure.
What if I reviewed somewhere and now I'm worried about being identified?
Reviews are anonymous to the restaurant. We also screen for identifying language (specific names, dates, identifying incidents) before a review goes live. If something slips through that you're worried about, hit /contact and we'll edit or pull it fast.
Can I review my current job?
Yes. Plenty of reviews come from people still working at the place. That's part of what makes it real.
What if a worker writes something untrue or mean?
We moderate. Other workers can flag reviews. We pull anything that's clearly retaliatory, identifying, or factually wrong.
Is there an app?
Not yet. The site works on phones, which is how most workers will use it. Native app comes later if it makes sense.

Yes, for workers, forever. We're working on a way to make money later from restaurants who want to claim their pages — never from selling worker data or showing ads. See /not-for-sale.
